Sevendust Brings Power and Intensity to Hampton Beach

Sevendust closed out the second night of The Dead / Seven Tour at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, on August 28, 2026, with a powerful performance that matched the intensity of the sold-out room. From the opening moments, the band delivered the heavy, focused energy that has defined their live shows for decades, with crushing guitars, driving drums and Lajon Witherspoon’s commanding vocals.

Witherspoon was a constant presence at the front of the stage, moving between controlled intensity and direct interaction with the crowd. His vocals gave the songs both weight and emotion, while the rest of the band built a wall of sound behind him. The Hampton Beach audience responded with equal enthusiasm, singing along, raising their hands and feeding the band’s energy. Each member brought a distinct presence to the stage, creating a show that felt both tightly performed and completely alive.

The hardest part was shooting through the heavy smoke onstage while keeping up with the fast pace of the performance. The band members were constantly moving, so I had to anticipate where each one would be and wait for the brief moments when the smoke cleared, working mostly with a 70–200mm f/2.8. My favorite image of the night is a close-up of Witherspoon: you can clearly see him enjoying the moment, making eye contact with the crowd and connecting with fans as he moves around the stage.
