Maya Hawke delivered an intimate, spellbinding set at Thalia Hall in Chicago on Sunday, April 26, 2026, as part of her Maitreya Corso Tour. Best known to many for her on-screen work, Hawke leaned fully into her musical identity, offering a tender, mostly acoustic-leaning set that highlighted new material from her fourth studio album, MAITREYA CORSO. The night felt intensely personal—no opener, just Hawke and her band (joined by her husband, Christian Lee Hutson, and violinist Odessa Jorgensen) moving through unreleased tracks and fan favorites.
Fans lined 18th Street well before doors opened, and Thalia Hall filled quickly, creating a close, focused atmosphere that matched the warmth of her performance. Standout moments included a stirring rendition of “Slacker in the Rye,” captured from multiple audience angles that showcased both the hush of the room and the quiet intensity of her stage presence.
Thalia Hall, a landmark in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood, was built in 1892 by John Dusek as a multipurpose public hall and storefront complex modeled after the Prague opera house. For decades it served as a cultural and community hub—ornate, civic-minded, and central to neighborhood life—earning landmark status in 1985. After a long period of closure, the venue was thoughtfully restored and reactivated in 2013 to bring live music, dining, and events back to the corner of 18th and Allport. Its historic charm and intimate layout make it an ideal setting for focused, emotionally resonant performances like Hawke’s.
As of May 19, 2026, Maya Hawke’s Maitreya Corso Tour is wrapping up its North American run. The tour launched on April 10, 2026, to support her album Maitreya Corso (released May 1, 2026) and is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City.
