Goose played an amazing mid-week set despite the ongoing heatwave that was felt across the region recently. Their style of exploratory American rock jams with a modern twist made it easy to slip away to a zone of relaxation and deeper thoughts. Listening to them stirred a personal nostalgia for Phish; a popular jam band whose music and videos used to play in the background as we caught up on life at friends’ houses year‑round.
This band pours everything they have to make sure fans have a fun and memorable time. Something unique I noticed was how family friend the show was and the crowd in attendance ranged from multiple different generations. The power of music to unite everyone regardless of age is always remarkable. If you have an opportunity to attend Goose LIVE on tour, scheduled to run until January of 2027, do not hesitate because you will not be disappointed with the amount of fantastic music your ears will be blessed with !
Biggest Challenge: Trying to stay cool with the temperatures easily reaching in the 100°s in terms of "feel" down in the photo pit and up in the front row. Lucily there were plenty of vendors at PNC Arts Center to quickly quench my thirst once I left the front area.
Favorite Shot of the Concert: Capturing the entire band from "Front of House" near the soundboard while the stage lighting and the operators did their magic to really bring out the loud colors and visually paint the joy that the band radiating from the stage. There was even several small beach balls being tossed around and an attendee blowing bubbles adding to the truly summer vibes that Goose was handing out.
Lens Used the Most: Canon RF 24-105mm (due to the proximity from the stage) FULL GALLERY BELOW.
Goose are a Norwalk, Connecticut–born quartet whose genre‑bending blend of rock, funk, folk and electronic textures has made them a modern pillar of the American jam scene. Built on tight songwriting and fearless improvisation, Rick Mitarotonda, Peter Anspach, Trevor Weekz and Cotter Ellis pair singalong hooks with exploratory live passages that turn every show into a unique, communal experience.
