Arirang: The Reunion, Reintroduction, and Renouncement Of Stereotypes

Three years ago, seven young Korean men exchanged intimate promises, heavy-hearted embraces, and prolonged farewells to each other and their fans, ARMY as they ventured onto a brief moment of reluctant separation. These brave men, known better as BTS or Bangtan Sonyeondan, were beginning their enforced pause as a group to complete their mandated military service, something they may have felt pride in and as their duty for their country, but also possibly bearing the harsh weight of their hiatus and the complex emotions of it. A plethora of emotions could be also felt presently in their revolutionary homecoming, reconnection with each other musically and with ARMY in their newly released album Arirang, their first group release after such a heavy period of being apart.
